Muscle Food Protein Pizza



I was so intrigued when I saw these protein pizzas advertised from Muscle Food with less than 600 calories per pizza, 68g of protein per pizza and under 30g of carbs! I thought that either they were going to taste horrible or there was a catch somewhere (like the macros just being per slice)!

I opted for the Chicken & Pepper pizza, which had a tomato base, cheese, chicken, peppers and spinach. I was pleased to see you could cook it from both fresh or frozen so the option is there to fill up your freezer for whenever the pizza craving hits!

Once opened, I noticed it was a fairly thin crust base, as expected if I'm completely honest for just 29g carbohydrates. It only took 10-12 minutes in the oven and it did smell and look delicious! One quick tip, don't use foil as the peeling off process it such a pain!

The pizza itself was very satisfying. The chicken pieces were fresh and the cheese was gooey and melted. There wasn't as much tomato base as I would have liked but with the thin crust it didn't matter too much. I'm presuming the base is where the majority of the protein is. It wasn't as crispy as I would have liked (around the edges it was nice and crisp but fairly bread-like in the middle), but I would definitely buy it again as a replacement for a high-fat, high-carb, low protein pizza!

I've also ordered the Peri-Peri Chicken pizza and one of their new 'light' pizzas - which have even lower macros and calories!
