Hippeas | Organic Chickpea Puffs

I'm always looking for healthy snacks that I can eat at work or have in my bag that aren't full of nasty ingredients. I recently came across Hippeas Organic Chickpea Puffs which caught my eye as they advertise as being high in fibre and a good source of protein. They also only have around 91 calories per bag, so they work perfectly as an 'elevensies' mid-morning snack.

The texture really surprised me - in a good way. I was expecting them to be quite a hard crisp-like snack due to the main ingredient being chickpeas, however they were more like wotsits or other crunchy puffed snacks I've tried - that aren't 'healthy'.  The flavours I've tried are all really tasty - Sweet n smokin, in herbs we trust, far out fajita and pepper power. I've noticed they also have a couple more flavours which look interesting, such as happenin' hickory! All in all, they have a wide range of flavours and I'm sure anybody will be able to find a flavour they like.

As well as being a good source of protein, they are also vegan, gluten-free, have no MSG and no trans fats. Per bag, there is 4g of fat, 11g of carbohydrates and 2 grams of protein, which are significantly lower in carbs that your regular bag of 'crisps'. I'd definitely recommend Hippeas if you're looking for a healthy on-the-go snack! They are currently available online, in Holland and Barrett or in Waitrose selected stores across the UK.
